Wisteria is a highly floriferous deciduous vine with strongly fragrant hanging panicles in mid spring.  The long drooping raceme sporting fragrant pea-like flowers that can be white, pink, or purple, and attract bees and butterflies in droves.  Flat brown seedpods that can be fuzzy (Asian) or smooth (American) follow the flowers.  Blooms best in full sun and well-drained soil. Wisteria is fast growing and can be an extremely aggressive spreader.
